About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced **Vehicle Workshop Technician** to join a busy engineering team supporting the development, maintenance, and repair of prototype and development vehicles.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician with strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, and electrical repairs.
- Support mechanical powertrain repairs, modifications, and software updates.
- Prepare and maintain prototype and development vehicles.
- Use automotive software interfaces and diagnostic equipment.
- Work with instrumentation and measurement equipment as required.
- Maintain high workshop standards by applying 5S and Lean principles.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety and environmental requirements, including Risk Assessments, HAVS, and COSHH.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and the wider workshop team to deliver project objectives.
What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Motor Vehicle Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
- Strong experience in vehicle diagnostics, electrical fault finding, and mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of modern vehicle technologies, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
- Experience working within a powertrain or prototype vehicle environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostic software and workshop equipment.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Competent using Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
