Batch & hold is typically implemented at the start of ‘saleable’ production. Vehicles exiting the manufacturing process are organised into build batches and are quarantined in preparation for audit.
Each batch is sample audited to identify any defects. If defects are discovered, the remaining vehicles in that batch are proactively checked for the same issues.
From here, the sample audits are re-run, with the process repeated until the audit score reaches an acceptable quality target.
