Production Technician

We are currently recruiting for a Production Technician to join an innovative company at the forefront of battery recycling and sustainable technology.

Based primarily at the company's Tyseley facility, with occasional travel to Edgbaston, you will play a key role in the safe processing, dismantling and recycling of battery materials using specialist equipment and controlled-environment systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous manufacturing, assembly, build or production experience who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.

• Annual Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 PA
• Hours: 09:00am - 17:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Operate specialist battery recycling and production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Work within nitrogen-filled glovebox environments to process battery materials in a controlled atmosphere.
• Monitor and maintain gas supply systems, pressures and glovebox performance.
• Ensure the safe handling and use of industrial gases in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
• Operate HVMS equipment, used to break down battery magnets and materials into fine recyclable powders.
• Set up, monitor and troubleshoot production machinery.
• Carry out battery dismantling, processing and material recovery activities.
• Complete production records and process documentation accurately.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and basic maintenance activities.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and safety.
• Support continuous improvement and process development initiatives.
• Travel between the Tyseley and Edgbaston facilities as required.

About You

• Previous experience as a Production Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Process Technician, Assembly Technician or similar.
• Hands-on build, assembly, manufacturing or production experience.
• Experience operating industrial, process or automated machinery.
• Knowledge and experience of working with industrial gases, gas handling systems, gas supply equipment, regulators, pressure systems and safe gas working practices.
• Understanding of nitrogen systems and controlled atmosphere environments would be highly advantageous.
• Ability to follow technical procedures, work instructions and health & safety requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in production, laboratory or process environments.
• Positive team player with a proactive and flexible approach.

Desirable Experience

• Battery manufacturing or battery recycling.
• Chemical processing or materials recovery.
• Glovebox operation.
• Mechanical assembly or engineering workshop environments.
• Industrial gas or process plant operations.
• Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
