PDI Inspector


Location: Warwick, CV34 6TE

Hours: 37 hours per week | Monday to Thursday | 06:45 – 16:15

Hourly Rate: £15.91 – £18.26 per hour (DOE)


To carry out pre-delivery inspections and quality assurance activities to ensure vehicles meet customer specifications and internal quality standards before release. The role is responsible for identifying defects, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high standards of workmanship within a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out in-process quality audits, including torque setting verification and hydraulic pressure checks.
  • Conduct systematic testing and inspection of vehicles in accordance with established inspection procedures.
  • Confirm vehicles comply with customer specifications and quality requirements prior to release.
  • Accurately record build standard criteria, defects, and faults for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Identify and escalate quality concerns, supporting root cause investigation and corrective actions.
  • Promote effective communication with manufacturing teams to drive adherence to quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement activities through data collection, feedback, and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Ensure all inspection activities are completed within agreed production timescales.
  • Maintain a safe and organised working environment, adhering to all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including light vehicles or HGVs.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
  • Ability to interpret inspection procedures and work to defined standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.


Desirable

  • Previous experience within vehicle inspection, quality control, or specialist vehicle assembly.
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems and quality assurance processes.
  • Mechanical qualifications or relevant engineering experience.
  • HGV licence and/or tachograph training.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required.
