Are you an experienced Test Engineer, Validation Engineer or Test Rig Engineer with experience testing electric powertrain systems?
Benefits & Key Information Include:
- £28.00 - £32.00 per hour (Outside IR35 - Umbrella/LTD Pay Rate)
- Initial 3 - 6 month contract with strong potential for extension
- Working hours are Monday - Thursday 07:30am - 16:30pm / Friday 07:30am - 12:00pm.
- Based in Coventry, Warwickshire

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly innovative engineering team developing and validating next-generation electric propulsion technologies. Working within a world-class automotive R&D environment, you'll play a key role in delivering testing programmes for advanced inverter, e-Machine and power electronic systems.
Role Overview
You will prepare and execute test programmes, operate advanced test facilities, analyse performance data and support the development of electric vehicle powertrain technologies. Working closely with engineers, technicians and stakeholders, you will help ensure testing activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute inverter and e-Machine development and validation tests
- Operate and support advanced dynamometer and test rig facilities
- Develop test plans, automated scripts and technical reports
- Analyse test data and investigate technical issues
- Support installation and commissioning of units under test
- Coordinate testing activities with engineers and technicians
- Maintain compliance with quality and health & safety standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement and facility development initiatives
Essential Experience
- Proven experience working as a Test Engineer ideally within an automotive test, rig or laboratory environment
- Knowledge of power electronics, inverters and electric machine operation
- Understanding of test methodologies and data acquisition systems
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience using engineering and data analysis tools
- Knowledge of health & safety, risk assessments and safe working practices
Desirable Experience
- Experience with AVL PUMA, ETAS INCA or Vector CAN tools
- Knowledge of high-voltage or battery electric vehicle systems
- Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline
