The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a team of Body in White Rework Technicians to support a major automotive manufacturing project based in Goodwood. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a premium automotive environment on a critical quality containment and rework programme.
The project involves carrying out precision rework on chassis leg assemblies, rectifying threaded hole concerns to ensure components meet required engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Body in White rework activities on vehicle chassis structures.
- Drill out existing 12.5mm holes and carry out thread restoration activities.
- Install Helicoil inserts to engineering specifications.
- Work safely and effectively on vehicles positioned overhead.
- Follow detailed work instructions and engineering procedures.
- Maintain quality standards throughout all rework activities.
- Identify and report any defects, concerns, or non-conformances.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams.
Essential Requirements
- Previous Helicoil installation experience is essential.
- Experience within a Body in White, automotive manufacturing, engineering, or vehicle rework environment.
- Confident using hand tools and drilling equipment.
- Ability to carry out manual rework activities requiring sustained overhead working and physical effort.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow engineering instructions and work to precise standards.
Desirable Experience
- Automotive OEM manufacturing experience.
- Body shop, vehicle build, prototype, or rework experience.
- Quality inspection or quality containment background.
- Experience working to engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
Training & Support
Full project-specific training will be provided by the customer's existing Body in White team, who are currently managing the containment process. However, due to the critical nature of the work, candidates with previous Helicoil experience are strongly preferred and will be prioritised.
What's on Offer?
- Immediate start available.
- Opportunity to work within a prestigious automotive manufacturing environment.
- Consistent shift patterns.
- Competitive rates available.
If you have previous Helicoil, Body in White, vehicle rework, body shop, or automotive assembly experience, we'd love to hear from you. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist project and make an immediate impact.
