BMW Debrecen appoint G&P as exclusive quality management partner.

Leading international quality management group G&P has been named as the exclusive supplier of quality management services to BMW’s complete vehicle manufacturing facility in Debrecen, Hungary. The €1 billion site, which is set to begin production in late 2025, will house the Neue Klass all-electric iX3 SUV.

As part of the agreement, G&P will provide a range of quality management services throughout the entire facility, working on a wide scope of commodities including technology montage assembly (TMO), body-in-white and technology energy module (TEM) and logistics. G&P’s services will be deployed in 12 production quality zones, in addition to the main quality zone in the production warehouse.

G&P’s class-leading inspection services will control parts quality concerns and minimise disruption during the manufacturing process. As part of a sustained focus on supplier quality, these inspection services will be deployed higher up the supply chain by providing onsite support at supplier plants, filtering out non-conforming components before they reach the assembly process and helping to identify root cause and eradicate issues quickly.

As well as managing incoming product inspection, G&P supply Resident Engineers at the customer plant who are responsible for actively investigating supplier point of fit issues. These Resident Engineers implement containment and corrective actions and communicate reported issues to the supplier to facilitate root cause analysis and problem resolution.

With the objective of meeting tight build schedule timeframes, while simultaneously working towards achieving zero defects on the production line, G&P will play a pivotal role in working with BMW and its supplier network to minimise risk, maximise performance and achieve operational excellence.

Marco den Dekker, managing director of central and eastern Europe at G&P, commented: “We’re delighted to further expand our already close working relationship with the BMW Group through the provision of quality management services to its all-new battery electric vehicle (BEV) manufacturing facility in Debrecen.

“Selected through a comprehensive tender process, BMW was impressed with our trustworthy reputation in the automotive sector, our proven service offerings and the innovative application of our proprietary project management system QTrak. Our work elsewhere within the group has demonstrated our ability, as well as our reliability in the provision of quality personnel, protecting all parties involved.

“Indeed, having worked with BMW since 2019 across four manufacturing plants, as the sole quality service provider we understand the brand, the culture, the internal processes and the external supply chain. This experience will prove pivotal as we collaborate to ensure meticulous quality management across multi-location production operations.

“With any new model, range or technology, quality issues can be expected. By having experienced, local, on-site support will ensure that any issues are addressed quickly and effectively before vehicles roll-off production.”

G&P is a world leader in the provision of quality management services to OEMs and their associated supply chains across the automotive, aerospace, defence and industrial sectors. With more than 30 years’ experience delivering senior management support and deploying experienced personnel through its dedicated talent division, the business adopts tailored solutions to overcome complex business challenges.

This is the latest in a long line of announcements that demonstrate G&P’s growth, ambition and future growth trajectory.
