Meet The Team – Craig Peach, Engineering Services Manager
Having been with G&P for more than eight years in a variety of roles, company stalwart, Craig, thrives on solving problems across a diverse range of projects and industries.
Whether it’s directly rolling his sleeves up and getting involved, or managing a project from afar, Craig particularly enjoys the variety of his role. Understanding the challenges faced by companies, from big established OEMs through to smaller manufacturers is what motivates him and drives him to not only solve the problem, but also ensure that similar future challenges are avoided through the creation and implementation of robust systems and processes.
“In this job, there’s never a one-project-fits-all approach. Every day is different which creates a really interesting problem-solving challenge, which I love,” explains Craig.
And in solving those customer problems, Craig can draw upon a wealth of production and operations experience spanning more than 20 years. During this time, he has worked in several planning, procurement and supply chain leadership roles, giving him a great understanding and appreciation of complex manufacturing environments.
Looking ahead, Craig is aiming to expand the technical services element of G&P’s offering further and would like to see it firmly established as a stand-alone service. He believes the company culture, which he describes as open to change and improvement, is ideally suited to this.
To support this ambition, Craig recently passed an ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor course which has enabled him to become a recognised IRCA auditor and become a member of the Chartered Quality Institute.
Meanwhile outside of work, Craig leads a busy family life, regularly solving logistics challenges for his own family! As a firm believer in life-long learning, when he does manage to find some spare time, Craig is learning to speak German, a skill which is sure to benefit him in both his personal and professional lives. He also enjoys books from a variety of genres including biographies, business, thrillers and science fiction, and is currently engrossed in a legal thriller set against the backdrop of London’s east end in the ‘60s.
