Quality management expert re-elected to industry aerospace board

Stephen Molloy, aerospace, defence and industrials director for the quality management services provider, G&P, has been re-elected to the board of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA).

Established in 2003, the MAA is the voice of Midlands-based companies supplying the aerospace industry, helping to grow business revenues and create high-quality employment in the region, also forging links nationally and internationally.

Molloy, who has already served an initial two-year term on the board, is a chartered engineer with a wealth of international industry experience in airframe and power generation environments. Since 2017, Molloy has led G&P’s activities in the aerospace industry where the company is successfully transferring its recognised quality management expertise in high-value manufacturing environments into the aerospace sector and supply chain.

Commenting on his re-election, Stephen Molloy said: “It’s an honour to be re-elected to the MAA’s board. It is an incredibly exciting time for the industry as it seeks to overcome recent global challenges. By continuing to work collaboratively and bring together our individual skills and areas of expertise, we can help ensure aerospace companies within the Midlands continue to be ideally positioned and operate competitively on the world stage.”

The MAA currently comprises of more than 300 member companies of which around 60% make ‘flying parts’ and the remainder make equipment for design, testing, manufacturing or provide specialist services.

“We are delighted to welcome back on-board Stephen Molloy following his re-election as a director,” said Andrew Mair, Chief Executive, MAA. “Stephen brings a wealth of quality expertise to our board of aerospace leaders who represent a diverse range of organisations from all levels of the industry. Together, our board is working to enable one of the largest aerospace clusters in the world to regrow through sustainability, productivity, innovation and global competitiveness.”

Molloy is one of just six elected directors on the MAA board from the supply chain, underlining his, and G&P’s, expertise in the area.
