CASE STUDY: Vehicle Technicians – Provide dedicated off-site expertise

The Challenge

An automotive manufacturer required vehicle technicians to investigate and validate powertrain technicalities as part of its new model introduction programme.

The investigation needed to be conducted and any modifications actioned and integrated without disruption to the vehicle launch schedule.

The OEM required the work to be done off-site with the provision of rework facilities and a test track.

The Solution

G&P sourced and secured a local off-site location with a test track facility to support dynamic testing.

G&P integrated an assessment centre with four separate vehicle ramps utilised six days per week.

Eight highly trained vehicle technicians were deployed within a condensed schedule.

To investigate the technicalities, G&P’s technicians stripped and rebuilt associated components within the verification project.

G&P project managed the whole operation, from logistical to human resources requirements.

The Results

Due to detailed analysis by G&P’s vehicle technicians, the scope of work was actioned without disruption to the launch schedule.

G&P’s vitally important work provided product validation in support of a successful launch and on time vehicle delivery to customers.

Such was the success of the project that an expanded scope of work was subsequently commissioned by the automotive manufacturer.
